Visible Learning – The Sequel 2023

In 2023, John Hattie returned to his ground-breaking Visible Learning Study. The first book was published in 2008 based on a synthesis of over 800 meta-analyses relating to achievement. Over the last 15 years the research base underlying the Visible Learning project has constantly grown to more than 2,100 meta-analyses, drawn from more than 130,000 studies, and involved more than 400 million students from all around the world.

Visible Learning: The Sequel came out in March 2023.

Video presentation on Visible Learning – The Sequel

In a video from 2021, John Hattie gives an overview of the changes in the update of the Visible Learning project. He also addresses the criticism of the study, but argues that nothing has changed in the underlying story and interpretation of the data.
